Full-Time Special Needs Caregiver and Behavioral Support Professional (Monday–Thursday)
Private In-Home Position - Competitive Salary - Engaged, Family-Centered Environment

We are a loving and dedicated family seeking a compassionate, proactive, and skilled professional to work with our 17 year old non-verbal, 6’8”, and 280 lbs son in a full-time role from Monday through Thursday. This is a salaried position based in a private home setting, ideal for someone with experience in special needs support, behavioral therapy, ABA, or special education.

Our son is non-verbal, 6’8”, and 280 lbs—he is active, energetic, and thrives best with a consistent structure, clear guidance, and warm, respectful interaction. While he does not use spoken language, he communicates through a device and benefits greatly from daily engagement, verbal interaction, and task-based redirection. We are seeking someone who will treat him with dignity and respect, encourage his progress, and help him reach his fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide active, engaged support in all daily activities, including:
  • Walking, swimming, and other physical engagements
  •  Self-care and hygiene routines (e.g., bathing, toileting oversight, dressing)
  •  Meal supervision and assistance
  • Implement a structured daily schedule and follow routines with consistency and flexibility as needed
  • Collaborate with and attend therapy sessions (OT, PT, SLP) in and out of the home, acting as a parent proxy
  • Support educational, literacy, and developmental goals outlined by his educational team and specialists brought in - if you have the skillset to support literacy education you have the opportunity to earn more in the role - the more responsibility assumed the more compensation that can be allocated - must have skillset to suport
  • Communicate and engage with our son consistently—even though he is non-verbal, he understands and thrives through connection
  • Provide daily updates to parents on progress, observations, and challenges
  • Maintain a high level of attentiveness—personal phone use during work hours is strictly limited to emergencies or pre-approved breaks
  • Work in coordination with outside professionals and specialists brought in for skills development for education and therapy support
 Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs (ABA, behavioral therapy, special education, or related field strongly preferred)
  • A positive, encouraging, and optimistic attitude
  • Ability to follow directions while also using good judgment in the moment
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to safely and actively participate in physical activities
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Kind but firm demeanor and the ability to set and maintain boundaries respectfully
  • A high level of reliability, professionalism, and integrity
  • A commitment to being present and engaged throughout the workday—this is not a position for someone who is frequently distracted by their phone or their own obiligations while at work
If you're passionate about making a meaningful difference in someone's life, and you’re looking to join a family-centered care environment that values growth, consistency, and compassion, we’d love to hear from you.
